Revival of Christian Living

“A Godliness Awakening”

At around 2:30 AM on October 17, 2010 as I was already in my bed; the Holy Spirit woke me up with these words:

Many have centered the Gospel around the office of the Evangelist. Others have placed the emphasis on the manifestation of the charismatic expressions of my Spirit: Speaking in tongues; the prophetic movement, Word of knowledge, healing and others. But the Lord is saddened as you have ignored your duties as Christians and your responsibility to strive for a manifested Christian Living. You have taken off the pages of my Word written by my apostles that clearly deals with a way of living your lives that is pleasing unto Me and even unto the world. For in Ephesians 5:15-21 I told you to:

“15Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”

But you are living an unwise life, you are not making the most of the opportunities I am giving you and you are being foolish by not understanding my will. My people are getting drunk as immorality has over-taken many of you. For I told you, in my love, to be filled with my Spirit and to speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs; but you have given yourself to the music of the god of this world; a music that is an abomination to me! Where is your thanksgiving?

You walk in the futility of your thinking and there is no difference between you and the gentiles (Ephesians 4:17). You prophesy, but can’t submit to your husband; you preach, but are unfaithful to your wife; you express great teachings, but have no time for your children; you talk about me with sinners; but when are you going to talk to me? When are you going to love me, to worship me and to sit with me?

Did I not tell you to “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice” (Ephesians 4:31)? But many of you do not even find it necessary for these things to be removed out of your heart. Did I not tell you to “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32)?

Do not think for a minute that the recognized high figures of the Gospel in America are simply “attacked by the enemy;” for they are being exposed by Me; says the Lord. For I have being dealing with them in the secret place for many decades; but they are refusing to listen to my ways of life and in the vanity of their minds they are finding justification for their increasingly detestable sins of sexual immorality and perversion.

What are you doing looking at the world? What are you doing judging what they do? Through my servant Peter I told you that today the Word is fulfilling herself:

“For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:17

We have emphasized too much in external manifestations of our Christianity and many of us when faced with tribulations quickly discover how little we know of the true ways of our Lord. We were very quickly made aware of how shallow our faith really is. We see very talented Men and Women of God whose walk in their jobs, neighborhood and even among their families is contrary to the ways of the Lord. Our pulpits are manifesting much emphasis on prosperity, much emphasis on personal callings, what my ministry is doing and how many people we are reaching; but God’s people are not changing; they are not the peculiar people we are called to be. We have become very friendly with the world and are standing as enemies of God for James 4:4 declares:

“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”

We are taking the grace of God as an excuse to live lives that are not pleasing unto the Lord and we are minimizing the severity of our sin. People are turning their backs on His laws and precepts and they are no longer going after His righteousness, but they are eagerly going after their own desires (James 4:1-3). Many ministers have publicly fallen and many more will fall as they continue to emphasize in the charismatic expressions of their gifts and have taken off the pages of God’s Word that teaches the beauty of Christian Living. For the Lord is saying at this hour as a warning to the Body of Christ in Matthew 7:22-23:

“Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

Beloved, I feel that the next move of God is going to be in our hearts. We will experience a revival of a life style of true Christian Living. This is going to be a Godliness Awakening. A greater anointing will not be released until we embrace and pursue Godliness; for the Lord Jesus tells us that “If we love Him we will obey His commands” (John 14:15). God has given us a divine nature to overcome the world and live holy lives:

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

(2 Peter 1:3-4)

Thank God that we serve a God of covenant…glory be to His Name! We are about to step into a season where we are going to truly “keep it real.” For the ones that think they know are about to see how little they know; but the Lord is about to do visible changes in our lives and we will be the “light of the world.” Open your eyes and search the Scripture concerning the Way He wants us to live and pray before the Lord day and night and night and day for the Lord to bless you with the fullness of our new covenant.

“But I am a God of covenant and will finish what I have started in you for:

“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
       I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”

(Jeremiah 31:33-34)

  1. Amado, Tu escribeste esto? ES PALABRA DE DIOS! Bendito sea JESUCRISTO EN TI! ALELUYA! Y HONRADO SEA EL ESPIRITU SANTO DE DIOS! por esta hermosa iluminacion santa. Amen!!! I believe that the will of GOD in reference to the outreach is the local church. But victory must take place in my heart first, then in my home and the in our communities. GOD loves integrity in the secret place “Psalm 51”. I know that is not about what I know, or what I have, or about what I do; but its about who I am as person, a believer, a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a co-worker, a leader. etc. Christiany is not about knowing, carring or preaching the truth; but about living the truth, walking in the truth; and is not about bringing people to GOD, but about bringing GOD to the people. We are called to be the body of Christ, in other words we are responsible for communicating and demostrating GOD’s love, compasion, mercy, wisdom, power, etc.
Amado, thank you for these words. A word from Hebrews come to mind; 12:1 “Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us”. vv.2 “Looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith”. Amen!

  3. We have all been given this incredible gift of life – and what are we to do with it? In Matthew 10 when Jesus calls the disciples and sends them out, he says to them “Freely you have received, freely give.” God gives us a beautiful connection between giving and loving in Scripture. Ephesians 5:1-2 says: Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

This is powerful stuff for all of us – we are all called to give of ourselves. For me during this season, that expression of giving meant spending time mentoring a child at Windy Hill Elementary. But I’ve learned that we can give life in so many other ways – it’s how we raise our kids, it’s how we treat people all around us, it’s our perspective on life when we wake up in the morning, it’s how we approach a situation – at home, at work, at school, at church – there’s no limit to the ways we can bring life to other people.

Greater love has no one that this, that he lay down his life for his friends. When was the last time you put someone else ahead of yourself for God? What opportunities do you have in your current circumstances to lay down your spiritual, emotional or physical life for someone? In order to give life, you have to have life. Are you full of life today? Have you allowed Jesus to come into your heart and fill you with the abundant life he offers?

I realize that these questions may seem pretty basic. But in exhorting people to the warmth of Christian living, we need to remember that a person cannot generate his or her own heat. We must preach the love of God in Christ by bringing together faith and works, Word and Spirit, the personal and the social, the head and the heart, and mission and service. Yet we must go further. We must not only talk about Christianity, but live it. A lot of people get involved in good works, but then they fail to talk about Jesus at all. Christian living is both proclaiming and demonstrating. It is acceptance of the will of God and then allowing that acceptance to radically change our lives.

There was a transparency in the early church that we have all but lost in the modern church. My heart longs to see manifest what I believe God has carried in his heart from the beginning of time — a church here on earth that adequately reflects his wonderful story of redemption. A church that is so caught up in his greatness, so infused by his power — a church so motivated by his love that she burns hot for him.

    1. That church will be manifested for sure; for God is the author and finisher! The Christian Live can’t be manifested on our own strength. All what God is asking at this hour is willing hearts. For so long we have been using the excuse that we are not perfect as an introduction to continue our sinful lives; but God has given us all that is needed for us, in HIM, to be able to pursue the Christian Living:

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” (2 Peter 1:3-4)

“Help us Lord; we have fail, but we are willing and open to receive from you. We surrender Father! Help us to do your will Lord.”
