God is asking for you: Where are you?

January 3, 2011

8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”

10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” (Genesis 3:8-10)

It was the greatest mess-up in the history of mankind. As a matter of fact; it was the mother of all the mess-ups in the world since. It was so bad that we are still paying the price for it today. As the direct result of this sin, Adam and Eve found themselves scared of God, hiding from Him and Shamed! It never fails, sin will always affect our fellowship with the Lord, we will find ourselves running from everything spiritual (Bible Reading, Prayer, Worship and Fellowship with Godly friends). Satan will always make sin look like it’s not a big deal; but after you have fallen in that trap, he will hit you hard with shame.

I am so glad I serve a God that even at my worst, takes the time to come after me; a God that loves me that much. God gave perfection to Adam and Eve and an amazing place to live, all kinds of great foods, all kinds of provisions and most importantly, God gave Adam and Eve Himself, as they were able to fellowship with Him in the cool of the day. However, Adam and Eve failed God, just as you and I fail Him every day; but He still takes the time to look for us and ask: Where are you? Stop hiding; don’t be ashamed and face God…He has an amazing plan for your life and no, it is not too late…Where are you?
