Unmasking the Ancient Ways of Satan Last Part

1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”

7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”

8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.

10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”

11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.”  Matthew 4:1-11 (NIV) 2010

“The Six Demonic Strategies of Satan”

VI. The Devil Knows When to Back Off for a Season

“Then the devil left him,”

Oh yes; the devil knows when to back-off and leave you alone for a little while; but keep fighting the good fight of faith; don’t drop your guard…the enemy will come back. We know that this struggle did not end here. Jesus and the devil still had another match at the cross of Calvary. In the desert, Jesus gave the devil a personal beat down for the sake of going through what was necessary to move up to the next step in His mission to save humanity. At the cross, Jesus sacrificed himself for the sake of mankind to be redeemed. At the cross, Jesus died for the salvation of the world (John 3:16). The enemy knows that it is hard for us to deny ourselves for the sake of others.

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24)

The enemy knows the Word, so he is fully aware that we have a mandate by the Lord to carry an uncomfortable, heavy and painful cross. If he doesn’t get you with temptations, he will try to get you as you are carrying your God-given cross. That is why it is extremely important that we have a clear understanding of the reasons why we must go through afflictions. A shallow understanding of the reasons for afflictions will be used by the enemy to kill you before the cross, by filling your mind with all kinds of evil thoughts. You have so many people out there full of self-pity, still carrying the un-forgiveness and bitterness of many generations in their families. Christians, in the church, full of hate and entitled mentalities. Many of them are leaders, pastors, Bishops, etc.

America is still divided by the color of our skins even today. We have become a bitter society with the carrying of our crosses. So now we blame each other and we discriminate and feed the false prophets and civil right activists of our day. We rather preach division than forgiveness. We are still allowing the devil to ride in our emotions and continue his job of killing, stealing and destroying God’s people. For many, it does not matter how many times the other party repents; they will always see them as racist. For the other side, it does not matter how the other party has grown in all aspects, they will always look at them as one third of a human. Help us Jesus!

All the more, Satan stands right behind all this mess as the filthy liar that he is, laughing and carrying on what he loves to do, as we stand as a divided people. The devil continues to expand the darkness of his kingdom by the continual effectiveness of his ancient ways. But beloved, the God of heaven is exposing the enemy’s lies and preparing God’s people for a great victory like none other in the history of humanity. We are the winning team and just as the children of Israel battled Giants under God’s anointing, God is raising up an army of holy people that will give hell to the devil and cause him to flee from us. Devil, I am coming against you in the name of the Lord! You may be able to see in the dark, but you can’t see in the light. The lights are about to be turned on you, ancient snake, to expose your filthiness and your true condition. Your ancient ways are now exposed!

  1. To triumph fully evil needs two victories, not one. The first victory happens when an evil deed is perpetrated; the second victory, when evil is returned. After the first victory, evil would die if the second victory did not infuse it with new life. That is why Paul tells us that we must hate evil and cling to what is good. We cannot hide from the reality of evil. We must cling to one another in love. We must bless those who persecute and hate us. Do you know what that means? We must rejoice with those who are rejoicing and weep with those who are weeping. We must overcome evil with good.

Mohandas Gandhi once said that if it were not for Christians he would be a Christian… More people have been driven from the church by hypocrisy than anything else.

James 4:7 tells us: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you!!!

Let us not forget, sometimes when it looks like evil is winning, and God seems nowhere to be found, love always seems to find a way. Nor let us not forget the words of Jesus in John 16:20 & 22: Very truly, I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will have pain, but your pain will turn into joy… So you have pain now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
