The Shedding of the Most Innocent Blood

In the human form, there is nothing more innocent than an unborn child. Many want to define life in the mother’s womb based on weeks of pregnancy; others want to speak about the woman’s right to choose and make arguments that it is her body. Others, even in the Body of Christ, turn their heads to the abortion issue based on their political preferences and agendas. Let me make it very clear that I am not talking to the world; I am addressing the murderess supporters that we have in churches all over America. First, let me go over some statistics and then we will go over what the Bible has to say about this issue of abortion. The numbers will speak for themselves; these are just some statistics:

ü      The United States has murdered over 40 Million lives since 1973. The number of abortions has increased since then.

ü      America murders 4,000 babies every day.

ü      95% of abortions are purely performed as a tool for birth control. No particular reason other than a woman exercising “her right” to choose.

ü      1% of abortions take place because of rape.

ü      1% of abortions take place because abnormalities.

ü      3% of abortions take place because of the mother’s health issues.

ü      In 2000 the United States murder 1.31 Million babies.

ü      We, the human race, murder over 46 million babies a year; 126,000 a day.

10 The LORD said, ‘What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. 11 Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. 12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.’” Genesis 4:10-12)

My question is: If the blood of a grown man like Abel cried out to God from the ground and God listened, how much more the blood of our most innocent? Because of Cain’s murder, he was placed under a curse that followed him for the rest of his life. This curse involved two elements as seen in verse twelve:

  1. Work without prosperity; work without the blessing of multiplication and God’s favor.
  2. No peace.

Some may continue to argue true life base on the weeks of the unborn child; is it two weeks; maybe eight or twelve? Again, I am not speaking to the world; I am speaking to the so-call Christians. The following Bible verses should be enough to pulverize the issue of abortion and when life is considered life:

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” (Ephesians 1:3-4)

In these verses we are able to see several things that pulverize the issue of when we should consider life to be so:

1.      God knew us personally before being formed in the womb of our mother.

2.      Before being born, way before the creation of the world, God already set us apart with a purpose.

3.      God has called us to be holy and blameless in his sight before our time in terms of to be.

4.      God has called us in terms of what to do before our time.

As you can clearly see, Biblically, there is no justifiable reason for God’s people to support abortion. The blood of each of the over 40 million babies murdered in America is crying out before God.
