Hope to the Hopeless

“The past is gone; you did it, it did happen…it can’t be change! However, this is today:  Confess, repent, turn your heart to God, learn from your mistakes, take the consequence, don’t allow others to keep you a prisoner of your worst moments, rejoice in the good and in the restoring power of God, stay humble, move forward, celebrate your freedom and speak boldly what the Lord tells you to speak.”

Up-Date From GFTKA

I want to sincerely thank you all for the support you have given to our program. I want to thank The Gates County Community Center and Ahoskie Christian School for opening the doors for our program’s expansion. To all of our 70 students…thank you so much! Outside of two students, all the Lord has given us are children. At Good Fight Taekwondo and Kickboxing Academy we are excited to see what the Lord is doing. Even as we are a business, we will never deny our services to anyone for inability to pay! We are always willing to offer our services and to trust God to fulfill our needs! Next year we will add two more locations as our program continues to rapidly expand. We will be teaching at New Vision Church in Murfreesboro, North Carolina and also at the Viquest Wellness Center in Ahoskie, North Carolina.

 Thank all for your support!

Merry Christmas!

Celebrate this Christmas remembering that Christmas is all about Worshipping Jesus; it is not about the gifts, what you can get, what you can get your children, Santa Claus, the pretty lights and all of the stuff that we have added to this season…it is all about Jesus!

Luke 2:1-14

New International Version (NIV)

Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2(This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Sick of It!

It is time to stop making excuses, to stop looking down at our condition as a reason to settle for mediocrity and start looking up at our potential in Jesus. It is time to start taking a good look at us as a CHURCH BODY for inventory reasons. Stop being so focus on our OWN THING and look up to God; follow HIS ways of how the church truly should be like and GET REAL! It is time to stop being wimps and take the criticism. If our Christianity is limited to what happens during those couple of hours on Sunday Morning we are in a lot of trouble!

I am grateful, but I am very dissatisfied because I know that there is more to this thing we call Christianity than to listen to a few sermons a month! In all honesty, I am getting very bored with it. If many in our congregations would be given the opportunity to express themselves without being labored as rebellious, they would say the same thing. God is not the problem, and I am not talking about abandoning the church, but we must not be afraid of pointing some things out that MUST change.

We must stop trying to sugar-coat everything; surely the Apostles did not! Somewhere in church’s history this church-thing became a one man show; somewhere in church’s history we became satisfied with things that gives us a form of Godliness, somewhere in church’s history our whole Christian-living was limited to Sundays, we started delegating our Biblical responsibilities, we lost sight of how to deal with sin, how to love, how to restore and how to fellowship. Somewhere in church’s history we stopped listening to the Holy Spirit and focused on what THE MAN OF GOD says on Sundays if we like it. The problem, my dear beloved, is that this Sunday Morning show is running out of ideas! The good news is that…this Sunday Morning show is running out of ideas!

For the Lord is saying:

“I am sick of those whose eyes can only see their ministry and themselves. They never see my children as investments to my Kingdom, they never see them as disciples as I have commanded, but they only see them with the eyes of envy and personal threat; therefore manipulating, hurting and pushing my sheep away. They never see my children as investments to my Kingdom, they never see them as disciples as I have commanded, but with the selfish eyes of personal advancement.

There is no sincerity, not giving up personal dreams for the dreams of others and no giving their lives so that others may live.  I am sick of those who have placed themselves at the center of their ministry and not Me. They have placed their denomination above my Word and my Ways. Your bylaws and manmade religion is like vomit before me.

You claim to be Spirit-filled, baptized in the Holy Ghost, filled with joy but you are cold and arrogant. You call your messages as if it is my Word, but they are nothing but intellectual Bible studies filled with information, but very little transformation power. You think you are on fire, but you have become just another motivational speaker who has mastered the art of cheerleading people into vanity. You are a coward as you refuse to confront sin in my house and call out false prophets and teachers that are leading my sheep astray. You are a coward as you refuse to reach out to those that have fallen as restoration can’t be seen in my house. Gossip has become the fuel of your existence and you have forgotten the mercy that I have given you.

I am sick of you asking for money, manipulating statistics to make it look like I am doing something when in reality it’s you and your personal efforts. You are getting the result of your works without Me, but you are so insensitive that you can’t even see the difference between the anointing and just talent. You walk around with great titles, but it is nothing more than the result of man-made efforts. You are building a tower of Babel, but I will confuse and destroy your projects. You have done great things that had forms of Godliness, but your emptiness will be exposed.  You celebrate and announce as a great thing giving one meal a year to the poor…Hypocrites! How is it that you have delegated the caring of the poor and the fatherless to Social Services? I hold this strongly against you!

Many have taken positions of authority without my authority, but I am rising up a new government that will dance my music and sing with the melodies of my heart. You who are hiding in the caves of shame; you who feel disqualified for the doings of your past and for the struggles of today, you who the world has X’ed-out, who has repented and have turned your hearts back to me, but men continued to close doors to because of what you’ve done; you who have been judged by your worst actions, but restoration never did knock at your door…Here I am! Your God, who showed you how worthless you are without Me, but how amazingly made you are in my hands. Your brokenness is your greatest gift at this hour!

For this is the hour when I am turning the heart of the fathers to their children and the children will be able to recognize their true fathers. Yes, I am relocating many at this hour, for they must be faithful to Me and not to the manipulations of men. I am relocating and equipping many to be fathers in the ministry. I don’t need supervisors, I need leaders and I need fathers. I am your God; you have been listening, you can feel my greater purpose, you know that there is more, but you have been silenced by the controlling spirits of selfish agendas. The Spirit of Saul that goes after my chosen will die a shameful death. The Spirit of Jezebel who has come to silence and kill my prophets will be eaten by dogs and will also die a shameful death; for the Spirit of Jezebel does not only manifest in women, but also in church leadership in general. This spirit seduces my people into the group of the accepted ones to keep the prophetic voice controlled so that they can only speak what is acceptable and convenient in the eyes of the leader; they have become the Balaam of our day. They hear from me, but are willing to manipulate, confuse and equip leaders to come against my plan, but Balaam too will die a shameful death.

Come to Me, I am knocking at the door of your destiny. Come, follow Me and I will make you fishers of men. I will cause you to build, not another network, but true Christ-like relationships with one another; no longer a networking-thing, but a Spirit-led thing.”

Are You Prepared for a Violent Attack Against You or Your Love Ones?

Martial Arts, even the styles that are just considered sports, offer many advantages. They help us with our coordination, physical condition, and mental condition. In all styles one can find techniques that could be useful to protect themselves. I heard the story of a boxer in high school. This kid recently moved to this school and he was not known. Apparently, because of his size, he was immediately the object for other kids making fun of and name calling. This boxer was calm and took the insults well; however, this other high-schooler decided to go further and not only insulted the boxer, but also placed his hands on him. That boxer opened a can of you-know-what on this kid. Even as many may not consider boxing an effective way of protecting yourself, the reality is that in this case, it was all that was needed. In many of my own street fights, it was all that was needed also. Any punch, kick, etc. can be use to defend ourselves.

A true Martial Artist is in this world to defend them self, his family, loved ones and those that are not able to defend themselves. We are not going to get in the way of the proper authorities; however, crime occurs in many occasions when the police are not around. We, as Martial Artists should be always willing to give our lives, if necessary, to protect those who can’t defend themselves. We, as Martial Artists are supposed to train day-in and day-out to be ready to do so at any giving moment. The Mechanic fixes the car, the Plummer fixes anything related to pluming, the doctor deals with the sick, the school teacher teaches the ignorant and the Martial Artist is called to defend. It should be the Martial Artist who steps in when a bully is expressing his evil ways on an innocent person, when a robbery is taking place, when a physical abuse is taking place, etc. Martial Artist should never ignore such situations, even if his/her only role is to call 911.

As I mentioned before, any fighting skill can be used for defense, however, there are techniques that are strictly designed for a person to defend him/herself that should be a vital part of any Martial Arts Program. I am talking about strictly, Self-Defense techniques. A good self-defense program goes beyond a black belt or a trophy; it is designed to give someone a better chance to survive if they find themselves in a place where their life, the life of their loved ones or the life of an innocent and defenseless victim is at risk.

We must stop approaching crime in a naïve way! The statistics are real and alarming! For the Christian in particular, there is this view that we are exempt from the evil that is out there. We have an enemy according to the Bible in John 10:10 that comes:

“…only to steal and kill and destroy…”

Satan’s only purpose is to steal all you have, to kill you if he has the chance and to destroy everything you’ve worked for. Just as God uses people to bring most of his plan to come to reality, the Enemy also uses people who are filled with his thoughts and ways of looking at life, to fulfill his only purpose.

King David was a man who loved God dearly; the Bible describes him as a man after God’s own heart. David also, in my personal opinion, was the greatest fighter that ever lived. However, when David found himself facing the reality that King Saul wanted to kill him, David did something about it…he ran from Saul! He did not wait for Saul to come and kill him; He defended himself the best way he knew how. No doubt that, at the end of the day, it is God truly defending us and He will provide supernatural ways of doing so, but we can’t have a naïve and stupid approach to the reality of Satan and what he wants to do. There will be times when we MUST defend ourselves…period! Beloved, the statistics are showing that Satan is fulfilling his purpose. According to the US Senate Report, one in five women will be raped during her lifetime. Other statistics show the following alarming numbers:

  • One homicide every 34 minutes
  • One aggravated assault every 35 seconds
  • One robbery every 43 seconds
  • One rape every 6 seconds

Recently, I had the opportunity to take a small version of a Women’s Self Defense Class with Master Mike Proctor. Master Proctor has the following credentials:

  • 9th Degree Black Belt
  • Founding member of the Texas Black Belt Commission
  • Board Member of the Fellowship of Christian Martial Artists
  • Board Member of the American Karate and Tae Kwon Do Organization
  • Over 40 years experience in Martial Arts
  • 14 years experience as a Certified Juvenile Probation Officer by the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission

During his class, Master Proctor explained how one of his students, whom, prior to being, was raped, asked him to write a Seminar Class on Women’s Self Defense. Out of that conversation, Master Proctor wrote a six hour seminar strictly dedicated to this topic. Master Mike Proctor writes:

“Most of us know how to swim or perform a survival float, even if we don’t own a pool or live in a lake. We know what to do in case of a tornado or flood and we know what to do if our clothes catch on fire (Stop, Drop and Roll!) We need a clear plan of action to deal with violent crime.” (Athena’s Strategies Self Defense Seminar)

It is amazing how this simple knowledge has saved many lives when faced with these extraordinary circumstances. Master Proctor explained that the lady that asked him to write this seminar is an educator in her local school and this particular seminar has become mandatory for all high school girls to take and successfully pass before graduating from high school. Now, that is a group that has taken very serious measures in teaching the process of preparing for violent crime attack. What about you?

A River of Tears of Joy

Lately, I have been experiencing an unusual contradiction. I find myself weeping, not because I am sad or in pain, but because of the overwhelming joy I feel as the direct result of God’s mercy and grace. God holds back the judgment that I deserve, declares me innocent, forgave me and on top of all that, as if that is not enough, He also blesses me with His incomparable grace as He blesses me beyond my comprehension. “Oh God, you are so amazing!” I say from the center of my soul; for the enemy had a plan to destroy and even as I cooperated with that plan, God rescued me.

I saw my Lord blowing the trumpet of His mercy towards my life; the sound that terrified the enemy and melted my soul with such expression of love. I see the green pastures of God’s prosperity, I see the salvation of the Lord coming down from the mountains of impossibilities made possible, I see the glory of His hope shinning upon my dark hours, I can see now and walk in the promise land of a great future, I see the valley of dry bones that once served as the zeal of my death. Those bones are now rising and standing as a mighty army of the Lord in attention, awaiting the new instructions for an irrevocable call. God did not stop loving me; God did not give up on me! The rainbow still decorates the sky after my storms, announcing that it is not over, that it is just the beginning. This journey will be extraordinary and victory is certain.

I am more than an over comer, not because of me, but because of Him who is mighty, loving and merciful. To HIM and only to HIM be all the glory and honor and power forever and ever AMEN!

Reflecting on 2011

The year of 2011 was, without a doubt, a very interesting year filled with pain, failure, hope, breakthroughs and great joy. When I look back at how 2010 ended, how 2011 started and where I am today, I have no choice but to give God the glory. It is amazing how impossible things look when one is going through it and how, as time goes on, you can look at what God has done and be amazed!

In the last six years I have gone through tragedy with the death of my first wife, a horrible second marriage, great challenges with my own children, raising three children as a single dad, divorce, deep depression, therapy, personal and public sin exposure and a pouring out of God’s grace in my life.

2011 started with a Word the Lord gave me on January 1st entitled: The Year 2011: A Year of Human Failure: https://angelcasiano.com/2011/01/01/the-year-2011-a-year-of-%e2%80%9chuman%e2%80%9d-failures/ Failure always comes before the breakthrough. Thank God that it is human failure as God will never fail us. 2011 was the year that provided me with the healing of the pain of the death of my first wife, the recognition that my second marriage was a mistake and a product of my disobedience, a year of humility as I finally sought out for help, a setup for my new wife and a reborn passion for the teaching of the reality of God’s principles through Martial Arts.

If anyone would have told me in advance all that took place in my life this year, I would have probably called that person a false prophet. Another key Word the Lord gave me in 2011 was: The Lord is Saying: It is not Funny: https://angelcasiano.com/2011/01/02/the-lord-is-saying-%e2%80%9cit-is-not-funny%e2%80%9d/ God, without a doubt, wants to use us! With this Word, I was able to see a degree of urgency.

Today, I find myself happily married, the proud father of four daughters and two young men and I am happy to come home every day. The sky is literally my limit! I think that the following video taken the day of my wedding on November 18, 2011, can provide a good sense of where my heart is right now: https://angelcasiano.com/2011/11/22/a-song-and-a-prayer-for-my-new-family/

I am very excited about what is coming in 2012! I don’t have a specific Word for this up-coming year yet; but I can tell that I am stronger and ready in Him.

  1. Alabanza a Dios

Merry Christmas Friends!

Christmas is not about Santa Claus, what gift one can get, what gift one got, the stress of shopping, drinking, partying or even what one is able to give their children. Going back and reading the story of Christmas, one will quickly discover that it was, is, and will always be about adoring Jesus! Christmas is a very sad season for many; depression actually enjoyed great success during this season. Many can’t wait for this season to be over so that they may go back to work as usual, but today I challenge them to take time to worship the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Today, I invite them to be born again and to allow Jesus to be born in the manger of their heart. I promise everyone that they will forever experience the hope of glory and the indescribable Spirit of what Christmas is truly about. If Jesus is the reason for the season, if Christmas is all about HIM, then Worship HIM for He is worthy to be praised! Let the lights of Christmas shine even through the darkest moments. Merry Christmas!

First Rank Testing

Today was indeed a historical day for Good Fight Taekwondo and Kickboxing Academy. Today was our first official Belt Ranking Test. My sincere congratulations for the four students that became a vital part of our short history; your hard work, dedication and humility brought you to this point.

From left to right:

Alexander Summer: This young man came into our program with no previous martial art experience; however he is one of the hardest working students I have. Congratulations on achieving your Yellow Belt Ranking.

Amy Holloway: Amy came into our program with a Purple Belt in Karate and today she earned her Yellow Belt Rank with us. Amy is one of my students from Ahoskie Christian; I know that with her humility, intelligence and hard work she will go far in life.

Dillon Lowe: Dillon was my students a few years ago for a short period of time as I returned to Florida. This time around he became our first official student; he is also our only adult student. Dillon has shown a remarkable progress and I am looking forward to see this young man become a Black Belt and be use by God to teach others, not only Martial Arts, but a way of life according to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Angelo Casiano: This is my son and currently my original highest rank. Angelo is a Brown Belt who started in Martial Arts with me several years ago in Jacksonville, Florida. Angelo is also my Assistant and a tremendous help for me and this program. We are looking forward to see him become our first Black Belt next year. Thank you son, for all you do!

Angel Casiano: Me

Corey Groh: Corey came into our school with a Blue Belt in a previous Martial Art school. No doubt that Corey is a hard working Martial Artist. From day one I became very impress with this young man’s maturity, his great display of respect for our program and humility. I hope to see Corey become one of our Instructors some years from now!

May God bless you all and continue to give you the grace to do what you do,

Sincerely,

Angel Casiano
