Three nonnegotiable things I give you today: The preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, prayer, and my open expression of worship to the Lord.
1. The Preaching of the Gospel: Even as the Bible encourages us to obey the law of the land in Romans 13:1-7, in Acts 4: 18-19 the same Bible tells us:
“ So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
2. Prayer: I believe that in the book of Daniel we see a great example of someone that knew the power of prayer. In Daniel we see a Biblical example of how nonnegotiable prayer really is. Daniel did not allow anything to stop him from praying. It cost him to some degree. He ended up in a lion’s den; however, not even one lion dared to touch him.
3. Worship: Worship is, without a doubt, a life style. Many like to hide behind self-righteousness to justify how dry they really are for the Lord. They don’t get down on their knees, they don’t prostrate themselves before the Lord, they don’t lift up their hands, they don’t shout, they don’t sing, they don’t dance, they don’t weep, they don’t laugh and after the preacher is done, they act as if God was not speaking to them. However, worship also requires expression. According to John chapter four, God is looking for worshippers. He is not looking for doctors, bishops, apostles, evangelist, etc. He is looking for people that will worship Him in Spirit and in truth. David danced before the Lord without shame and without worries of looking dignified; one his wives did not like it and let David know it, however, she was never able to give birth to children. This is a prophetic symbol of what happens to religious folks that refuse to openly express their worship to the Lord; they become fruitless.
If you are in a church that is not preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ you must get out of there fast. If you are in a church that does not pray, you are throwing punches to the air, for prayer is what releases the power for miracles and breakthroughs. Finally, if you are in a church that places limits in your worship expression to God, you must not allow intimidation to move you away from doing your number one responsibility on this earth which is to freely worship the God that is truly worthy to be praised.
It is time for God’s people to declare their alliance and faithfulness to God over manmade traditions, denominations, family and cultural beliefs. Be free my friend!
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
