10 Things I want From Our President

  1.  I want a President that will ensure religious freedom: I would prefer that our President be a Christian, but he must also be skillful and qualified to do the job. Because you are a Christian that does not automatically make you the best choice for President of the United States. He doesn’t necessarily need to be a Christian, but he must allow me and everybody else to freely practice our religion as established by our Founder Fathers.

  2. I want a President that will be bold and brave enough to unashamedly make a stand against abortion and same sex marriage.

  3. I want a President that understands that we are at war and that we will indeed always have enemies. For that, we must continue to have the strongest military forces in the world.

  4. I want a President that will make it a priority to balance our budget, eliminate our debt, eliminate wasteful spending, and give this nation surplus: Living within our means is applicable to the Government also!

  5. I want a President that will promote the creation of an environment where small businesses are not treated as our enemies, but as our economy’s greatest assets: I want a President that welcomes and promotes success, not punishes it!

  6. I want a President with a profound understanding of the government’s constitutional role and limits his powers and interventions to just that.

  7. I want a President that will actively and effectively deal, confront and resolve our illegal immigration problem.

  8. I want a President that will actively and effectively confront and resolve our Social Security Benefit upcoming issue before it becomes a crisis.

  9. I want a President that will totally revolutionize our welfare system: I want a welfare system that will stop all able bodies from having the Government make a living for them. I want a government that will define those in true need as the elderly, disabled, and those that are facing temporary hardship and are in need of TEMPORARY assistance. I want a President that will not be afraid of eliminating all programs that are statistically ineffective. If a program is needed, but the government is not doing their job, then trust the Private sector to do the job.

  10. I want a President that will promote a Government with sufficient regulations to ensure that no business is taking advantage of another. However, a government that will not have so many regulations, that complying with the regulation will significantly affect the freedom of the private sector and their time and ability to offer a quality product.

I No Longer Recognize My Country!

The Obama Administration was quick to publicly blame a Youtube video for the killing of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. Even as, we know now, they knew that this was not a spontaneous attack within hours of the attacks happening, they made the decision to lie to us. It took this Administration over two weeks to officially call this act clearly for what it was, a Terrorist Attack.

But things do not stop there, we now also know that Ambassador Stevens was concerned about his life and requested more security. That request was denied! There was no extra security on September 11, 2012; I believe that we all know how significant that day is for radical Muslims. But for the current Administration, apparently it was just another day. No need for extra weapons, no need for extra soldiers to protect Ambassador Stevens. It is the mentality in action that if we are just nice with radical Muslims and apologize in advance, everything is going to be okay! Right?

All of these notions, so far, are disgusting, childless, ignorant, insensitive, and irresponsible enough. Somebody ought to be fired, but the President referred to this incident as a “Bump in the road.”

I went to the gym today to exercise; I was on the treadmill listening to the news when braking news was announced. The truth of Benghazi’s tragedy continues to take center stage.  http://news.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474981725280 reported these news as follow:

“On Friday, the Benghazi latest news includes a shocker: CIA operatives say they were told to “stand down” when they asked to assist those in the U.S. Embassy under fire.

U.S. officials didn’t just tell the CIA annex workers to stand down once, they told them to stand down twice as American Navy Seals and U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens came under attack.

It’s appalling to think that any U.S. official would refuse to allow other Americans, especially those trained for such combat, to assist government and military Americans in danger overseas. And it bears addressing judicially.

Thankfully a former Navy SEAL named Tyrone Woods, along with two others who were at the CIA annex at the time, chose to disobey those ridiculous orders. Unfortunately, without more military fire power to aid them they were not successful in rescuing Stevens, but they did evacuate others at the consulate and retrieved the body of Sean Smith.

Americans willing to risk their lives in service to their country overseas at consulates and embassies around the world shouldn’t have to worry that their military brethren will be told to “stand down” if an attack takes place. Yet Fox News reports that this is exactly what happened in Benghazi, with a source telling them such orders came from higher ups twice that night.”

As I listened to the news on TV I could not control all the emotions that were hitting me at the same time: A deep sorrow, anger and frustration as I could not contain my tears. I think that perhaps no one is able to express my emotions as clearly as Mr. Glenn Beck did, and I quote: “Today officially is the day that I no longer recognize my country.”

Are You At Your Final Destination In This Dimension of Life?

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:12-14 NKJV

The first question that crossed my mind as I read these verses is: Are we all destined to do something extraordinary? According to these verses, Jesus answered: “Most assuredly.” If you have been a Christian for more than a year and you are doing nothing for the Lord, you are out of God’s will. God will indeed hold you accountable for not doing what you where supposed to do with the gifts He has given you. In Matthew 25:24-30 Jesus used some very strong words for the servant that did not use his talent:

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’

26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’” NKJV

We are called to do the greater works because we are doing it through Him and not in our own strength, the Holy Spirit dwells in us and because Jesus is going to the Father on our behalf as our Intercessor and as our Attorney. Up to this point, people pray to God the Father, but Jesus was establishing that now prayer was about to be more effective as we now are able to approach the Father in the Name that is above every name (Philippians 2:9-11) Beloved, are you stuck? God is in the business of taking us from glory to glory, from revelation to revelation; from level to level…our goal is to be like Christ…how far do we have to go to get there?

Beloved, some of you must pack your things and move to another country, to another city, a different town, to get that job offer, to start the ministry God already gave you the tools to start, to leave that dead church that turned their backs on the Holy Ghost long time ago…it is time to go and do what God has called you to do. We are called to be faithful to God above men, to do His will and not to be trapped in the ways of the world and the manipulation of man-made religion. In Matthew 25:21 Jesus said:  “You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.” We must allow God to do what He wants to do in us and through us. We must stop allowing the fears of failure consume our will and we must stop being satisfied and comforted with the status quo of mediocrity.

Good Thing That God Gave This to Me Today

If you constantly fight discouragement, that is the enemy’s way of telling you to stop serving the Lord. If you constantly fight depression, that is the enemy’s way of telling you that there is no hope and that whatever you are doing for the Lord is worthless.  If you constantly fight guilt, that is the enemy’s way of telling you that your sins have not been forgiven. If you constantly fight personal disappointments and extreme dissatisfaction, that is the enemy’s way of telling you that you are disqualified, that you will never be good enough, and that you are just one more hypocrite walking on this earth. Oh, believe me I know! For there are times when I feel like quitting. There are times when hiding until my ends comes is appealing. Have you ever felt this way before? Do you know what I am talking about? So what do we do?

Without walking with the Lord we are without a compass in the enormous ocean of life. The reality is that without Jesus Christ’s blood we stand forever guilty indeed. However, all changes when we call Jesus our Savior and our Lord. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ[a] who strengthens me.” NKJV

This does not mean that you can jump out of a building and start flying or buy that thing you can’t afford. Let’s not use this verse as a ticket for irresponsibility. As I said before, there is a thin line between faith and stupidity. But what this verse is telling us is that we can do everything that God has called us to do. Jeremiah 29:11 establishes that God has a beautiful plan for all of us:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” NKJV

God wants us to be emotionally at peace; He does not want us feeling discouraged, depressed, filled with guilt, or seeing ourselves as losers. God wants to give us a future and a real sense of hope that what He has called us to do, in HIM, we are able to do. The Apostle Paul told us in 2 Timothy 4:7

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” NKJV

Finishing the race is possible! Yesterday I went for a long walk at around eight in the morning. What a beautiful morning it was, near the City of Atlanta, Georgia! I took the time to speak with the Lord. What an amazing God we serve indeed! Our daily struggle is to grow in our intimacy with HIM. The distractions and busyness of life constantly serve as great obstacles in that process of growth. How much I need the Lord today! We really need HIM every day, but the pollution of life takes away the sensibility to realize the magnitude of our true need for HIM.  What is the secret? How can I continue this pursue of loving HIM above all things? Boy, it feels so good when we find ourselves reading the Word and talking to the Father in our secret places! There is absolutely nothing that can come close to the wonderful feeling of hanging around Jesus. Our souls are created to be totally satisfied by God. No matter what we do or what we have, without that closeness and fellowship with the Holy Ghost we will eventually run right into the wall of depression, dissatisfaction and regret. Good thing that God gave this to me today!

“32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:32-34 (NKV)

So, What About Sensuality?

I know that many people will perhaps get upset over what I am about to discuss. However, I try my best to listen to the Lord and develop the topic from there. I must say that as I write about this topic, I feel extremely disqualify, as I am the last person on this earth that should be writing or talking about any topic related to sexual sin. But, are we ever worthy of preaching God’s Word? This is indeed an important topic that deserves special attention.

Sensuality is a powerful weapon used by Satan against humanity. Satan has been using this weapon for a long time because of its effectiveness. Sensuality leads to impurity of the mind and those thoughts become actual behavior designed for our own destruction.

We are constantly been bombarded with things that are designed to arouse our natural sexual desires. We live in a society filled with sensuality wherever we go.

The New International Webster’s Pocket Dictionary defines “sensuality” as: “The state of being sensual; lewdness; lasciviousness.” Lewdness is the same as: “Filthiness and vulgarity.” On the other hand Lasciviousness means: “Arousing sexual desire.”

From the clothing we wear, to the music videos, to the Lyrics of many songs, TV Shows, Movies… we see sensuality everywhere. It has indeed become the norm to be sensual! In his sermon: “12 Deadly Sins (and How to Avoid Them)” Pastor Keith Dostel stated the following:

“People who would be mortified to walk down the street in their underwear are guilty of the sin of sensuality when they lie around the pool or on the beach in attire that is significantly smaller than their underwear.  It is not acceptable for believers to dress (or undress) in that manner simply because this is how people normally dress (or undress) at the beach.  The believer never has the freedom to act like the world because this is how the world normally acts.  When a Christian gives himself over to his own sensual desires, whether it is an inordinate display of skin, or an inordinate consumption of food, or an excessive viewing of movies and video games, or the viewing of those who display too much skin, this is the sin of sensuality.”

It is a daily struggle to fight against this spirit. The reason it is so difficult is because we were indeed created with sexual desires. These are beautiful desires that are meant to be satisfied in the beauty and sanctity of marriage. However, you know this, you are driving down the highway and there it is, a huge billboard with a beautiful seductive woman looking straight at you. You turn on the TV to watch your favorite football team and there you can see the cheerleaders with very little covering on their athletic bodies as they dance to the music…the commercials do not help either!

The Apostle Paul needed to confront this spirit of sensuality as he write to the Corinthians church:

“I am afraid that when I come again my God may humiliate me before you, and I may mourn over many of those who have sinned in the past and not repented of the impurity, immorality and sensuality which they have practiced.” 2 Corinthians 12:21 (NASB)

We must point out that Paul is talking to the church here; these are folks that are in the church, but find nothing wrong with these kinds of lifestyles. On this verse we are dealing with three sins that are connected to sexual sin:

1. Impurity: The word impurity in the Greek means: “Uncleanness or filth in a natural or physical sense; moral uncleanness, lewdness, incontinence in general[1]

2.  Immorality: “To commit fornication or any sexual sin. Fornication, lewdness, or any sexual sin.[2]

3.  Sensuality: “Lasciviousness, license, debauchery, sexual excess, absence of restraint, insatiable desire for pleasure. [3]

When we are dealing with impurity we are dealing with the condition of our minds outside of Christ. It is giving our deep thoughts to our sensual desires. In dealing with Sexual Immorality we are dealing with any sexual activity outside of marriage. Then we have this thing called Sensuality that becomes the powerful spirit that easily enticed us to meditate on impure thoughts and take us to the actual acts of Sexual Immorality.

I am blessed to work in a place where women dress very appropriately, but in some workplaces it is not so. Women are constantly wearing clothing that leave very little to the imagination. Many churches are also filled with seduction. It is obvious that many of the sisters that come to church are not coming with the idea of kneeling down to pray judging by the clothing they constantly choose to wear.

What a challenge many of us parents are facing! Our children are growing up in the midst of a generation where sensuality is not only accepted, but celebrated like never before. Beloved, this teaching is not the result of legalism or some outdated message. This is the Word of God. We can’t speak about Sexual Immorality without addressing the seduction among us. Paul saw these seductions as a personal humiliation for him. May God help us all!
