Fathers Needed

I think that one of the greatest failures in the Body of Christ in general is the lack of fathers. There is indeed a crisis of fathers everywhere. Whether we like it or not, the Lord has called many of us to be fathers. To be a father is probably the hardest work we will ever do on this earth. It is so easy to give up!

My failures were embarrassing, but are actually helping me to be a better and more approachable father to my own kids and to the people God has called me to pastor. I am nobody, I stand as a nobody and I will forever be a nobody without the Lord. I am enjoying an amazing wife, not because I deserve her, but because of God’s mercy and grace in my life. If I am back ministering again it’s because God’s faithfulness, not because of mine. I can’t take the glory for anything. Loosing my first wife to cancer revealed the nastiness of my own heart and sin finally caught up with me.

Today, I stand in front of a very small congregation. I pour my heart out Sunday after Sunday. I am back pursuing holiness…It is a lot easier when we can go to bed with a beautiful wife every night. But it’s total hell when we are alone. I know loneliness; I know how bad it’s for a man to be alone. So I don’t justify sin; I know what is on the other side of that, but I can no longer be arrogant when dealing with other people’s sins. As fathers, we must also understand that many of our children and spiritual children are facing hell themselves. They are struggling with strong spirits of fornication, adultery, homosexuality, insecurity, hurt, bitterness, irresponsibility, laziness, fear and the list goes on and on.

I do not preach a Gospel that allows us to do whatever we want; I don’t preach a Gospel of false mercy. I preach the severity of the consequences of sin and the beauty of pursuing holiness. However, I do not point at myself as the example; as an unapproachable Man of God that has it all together. No, I am not the one with the same wife, I am not the one with no divorce on my record; I am not the one that never got caught in sin, that did everything right and that was always a great example.

My testimony is a mess; I do not hide behind the branches of the things I did before I was a Christian. I am talking about embarrassing things I did after receiving Jesus as my Savior and Lord. But in the Gospel I preach I point at the One that did, is doing and will forever do everything right…I point at Jesus! He deserves all the glory, He deserves all the praise, and He is my hope and the one who wakes me up everyday, gives me strength and indeed restored my hope.

Who am I to judge you? But what I can tell you is that if you continue to insist in that secret sin; if you refuse to repent and turn from your wicked ways, that sin will destroy you. My sin added more time in the desert and has increased the distance of the promise land of my purpose. But I believe that God is restoring my days and I trust that with His help I will finish the race and my purpose will become a reality before I sing the melodies of my last song.

I am the father of many, you just don’t know it yet, but I will look for you. For these are the days where we as fathers must turn our hearts toward our children. Our children are crying out, running from father to father, filled with rebelliousness and hurt. But they will recognize our voices, for we will carry the banner of God’s love…that love that will never fail according to First Corinthians 13. I hear the song of the prophet; I hear the melodies of a new song, the music of our future is getting lauder…I hear the words that announced the end of an era and the promise for our today:

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” Malachi 4:5-6 (NKJV)

5 Covenants

God is a God of covenants not a God of contracts. Contracts are sealed with a signature and there are legal ways to break them. A covenant is established by God, sealed with blood and unbreakable.

The Covenant with Noah (Genesis 8:20-9:17) This is a Covenant of hope. In the rainbow we see the sign that God has not given up on us. As long as we are able to see that rainbow there is hope. With eight people God gave us a new beginning.

The Covenant with Abraham (Genesis 17:1-21) This is the start of a new nation; a nation chosen by God to reveal Himself to the world. With Abraham we saw a peculiar people, the carriers of God’s blessings to the world.

The Covenant with Moses (Exodus:3-6) Through Moses God gave us the law, the heart of God in written words, the only acceptable way of the Lord and His holy standards. With Moses we saw the will of God for His people, His precious holiness and His righteous ways.

The Covenant with David (2 Samuel 7:8-17) This is the promise that God’s Kingdom is to be established forever. Out of the seed of David came the King of kings and the Lord of lords in the flesh… our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:1-37 / Isaiah 40:1-11) Here God gave us a better covenant and the promise that God will indeed write the laws that He gave to Moses in the hearts of those that embrace His son. The New Covenant is filled with grace and with truth through Jesus Christ. The New Covenant is indeed the last covenant sealed not with the blood of animals, but with the blood of our Eternal King. Jesus shed His blood, died a horrible death on the cross in Calvary, but on the third day he roused again.

This is God’s love story for us!

Prayer Guide For Schools

Pray for our schools! They took prayer out of school, but prayer can’t never be taken out of you!

A prayer guide to pray for our schools from the Church of Jacksonville. Just ad the name of your school and city and you fill in the blanks.

Father, it is our desire that every teacher in _____________ would come into a personal relationship with You through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We ask that You would grant every teacher of _____________ school, who does not know You, the gift of repentance and the faith necessary to trust in You alone for their salvation. Empower each one of them to turn to You in genuine faith, and receive the forgiveness that You offer so freely (John 3:15-18, 6:44; Acts 4:12, 17:30-31).

Father God, bless those teachers and administrators at _____________ School, who do know You, the courage to fulfill their role as ambassadors to Your kingdom. Provide them the grace and power necessary to truly be the beacon of righteousness lighting a path for each student and teacher in this school. Teach them to speak with prudent boldness as they depend on Your Spirit’s leading. (Prov. 28:1; Matt. 5:13-16; Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8, 4:31).

Father of all truth, we ask that you would be known as the source of all truth throughout the schools in our city. Place your truth into the hearts of all the teachers of _________ school. Give them a hunger to know and teach the truth, while empowering the students with the ability to receive it. As alternatives to your truth are presented, grant the teachers discernment as to how to properly handle any lie that comes against the knowledge of Your truth. (Prov. 22:17; John 18:38).

Father, bless the teachers of ____________ school with the wisdom to know how to reach and teach each student. Grant them your insight into the individual learning needs. Open their eyes to the many different ways each student can be trained, encouraged, and taught the discipline of learning. Grant them special insight into the needs of any disruptive children, filling these teachers with the compassion to effectually deal with them. (Prov. 2:6; James 1:5; Prov. 22:15).

Praying For the Students

Lord God, We lift up every child in our ____________ schools who does not know you. We pray that you would reveal your love and power to each one individually at ____________School. Invite each one to know you and grant also the power to turn to you and away from all sin and unrighteousness. Open the eyes of their heart to see you as you truly are in the fullness of Your glory. Encourage those that do know you to boldly speak the truth. (Eph. 1:18, 1Tim. 2:4)

Father God, we ask that You would help the students of ____________ school to develop healthy relationships with each other. Bless them with compassion, respect, and understanding for one another. Set them free from any unhealthy relationships that would lead away from the knowledge of you. Empower the youths who know you to lead out by example. (Ex. 20:12-17; Lev. 19:18; Matt. 22:39; Eph. 4:32).

Father, assist these children in the finding of their identity in Jesus. You knew each child before they were born, and can speak more to who they are than the world can. Help them find out who they are and discover that they are created in your image. Free them from the world’s labels and empower them to be everything you created them to be.

Father we ask for your divine protection for each child attending ____________ School. We urgently ask that you would keep them from any harm. Protect them spiritually, bodily, and emotionally as you guide them safely and cover them under the shadow of your wings. (Psalm 91:1-2; 4:8, Is. 43:2)

Lord, in your Word, you said to “apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge”. Because of this we ask that you would give each student here at ___________ School a real hunger to learn. Grant each child a teachable spirit and free them to exercise every ability for learning that you placed within them. Since you don’t make mistakes, help each child to walk in the confidence that they can learn anything and everything that you want them to. It is but for the asking. (Prov. 23:12; James 1:5)

Lord we pray for the parents of each student here at ___________ School. We ask that you would grant them the love and wisdom that each child needs as they learn and grow in maturity. Father please help equip them with the inner strength and convictions that are needed to create and uphold healthy boundaries for these children. Grant them the vision to reach out to You and to others for refreshing and perspective. Give them peace and perseverance as they offer stability and love to their children.

Thanksgiving and God’s Presence

The origin of Thanksgiving can be traced back to December of 1621. “The Pilgrims left Plymouth, England on September 6, 1620. Their destination? The New World.” (www.Christiananswers.com) A Pilgrim is a traveler who travels for religious reasons. The Pilgrims was a Christian group that came to America from England looking for religious freedom. On December 13 of 1621 the grateful Pilgrims established a three-day feast celebration specifically to thank God. (www.Christiananswers.com) Also reports that even as their is historical evidence of special Thanksgiving Services, without a doubt that the Pilgrims gave us the first Thanksgiving Feast.

In 1789, President George Washington issue America’s first Day of Thanksgiving to God under its new constitution.”  In 1942 Congress declared the fourth Thursday of November as the official Thanksgiving Day.

Today we will see plenty of food in many American tables around our nation. Many started their cooking yesterday and with very little sleep will camp-out tonight in front of their favorite store waiting for the Black Friday Deals… Oh, so exciting, right? For many, the success of the celebration is indeed measured by the amount of food available; as a bonus, the start of Christmas is announced by the sounds of Black Friday. But is that what Thanksgiving should be all about? We have taken this amazing day of reflection in our history and we have turn it into a day of gluttony where the least we do is indeed thank God for His many blessings over our lives.

As you can see, historically speaking, Thanksgiving is a deeply rooted Christian celebration. Thanksgiving is indeed more than just a once a year celebration. The seriousness of the practice of thanksgiving is that, without a thankful heart, we will never be able to experience God’s manifested presence. The Bible tells us in Psalms 100:4

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” NKJV

Let us explore together some of the benefits of God’s Presence:

1. In the presence of God we find rest: (Exodus 33:14 NKJV) “And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

The word Presence here is: “An adverb meaning before, in front of. It is used to indicate physical position, in front of something.[1]

Many people, will enjoyed a four-day weekend off from work, however they will go back to work Monday extremely tired. You know why? Because they are totally missing what Thanksgiving is all about; they are missing His presence. We will enjoy tables filled with all kinds of colors and all kind of delicious food. However, even as our bellies will be full, our hearts will be empty, as many are not sensing God’s amazing presence.

In Psalms 16:11 we find three very powerful benefits of God’s presence:

“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” NKJV

2. In the presence of God we find wisdom:

The wisdom of God is God showing us the path of life; the only life that count; a life according to God’s way of doing things. In Him we find wisdom to move, wisdom to stay and wisdom to wait.

3. In the presence of God we find joy:

Many will engaged not only in overeating, but also in over-drinking. They engage in these activities looking for happiness. Some will find a temporary happiness enticed by the alcohol; but only in God’s presence we are able to find joy. Without God there is no true joy!

4. In the presence of God we find pleasure:

*The word Presence here means: “A masculine plural noun meaning a face.[2]

The word pleasure here means: “Pleasant, delightful. It is used of persons who are pleasant and a joy to be around. They display attitudes that please others, such as David and Jonathan (2 Sam. 1:23). It refers to those who are delightful to enjoy[3]

5. In the presence of God we find a hiding place; a place where whatever people have to say about us, good or bad, will not affect us:

“You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues.” (Psalms 31:20 NKJV)  (Same word for presence previous discussed)

Many people are greatly affected by what others say; if people say good things they become prideful and arrogant; if people say bad things they become angry and depress. That happens when we live lives outside of God’s manifested presence. In God’s presence we find al the validation we need and more; in God’s manifested presence the words of men loose power one way or another.

6. In the presence of God we find the time to be refreshed:

(Acts 3:19 NKJV) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord…”

The word Presence here means: “The part toward, at, or around the eye. Hence, the face, countenance, presence, person.[4]” Other words for refreshing are: “Uplifting, inspirational, energizing, and revitalizing.” These are other benefits of God’s presence; these are some of the things we missed, even in Thanksgiving as we insist in making it all about food.

When we find ourselves constantly tired, we are lacking God’s manifested presence in our lives. When we find ourselves loosing our way, we are lacking God’s manifested presence in our lives. When we find ourselves depressed, we are lacking God’s manifested presence in our lives.  When we become a very difficult person to be around, we are lacking God’s manifested presence in our lives.  When we find ourselves affected by whatever anybody has to say about us, good or bad, we are lacking God’s manifested presence in our lives.  And, when we find ourselves feeling down, we are lacking God’s manifested presence. It is my prayer that we make thanksgiving a life style and not just a once a year feast. It is my prayer that today God open our hearts for us to realize how bless we are and the unending reasons we have to be grateful. Happy Thanksgiving Day!

When Republicans and Democrats Work Together!

As I pointed out before, since 1940 to 2012 we have had seventy-three Fiscal Years on record. In those 73 years we have had only 12 Surpluses; that leaves us with 60 Deficit Fiscal Years.

One of those Presidents that gave this country surplus was Democratic President Harry Truman. I am fascinated by this man’s leadership; but at the same time, as it applies to today, we can’t ignore some historical facts. When Harry Truman stepped into the office as President in 1946, he received a $610.26 Billion Dollars in Deficit. At the time, both the House and the Senate, were Democratic.

In 1947, Truman lost the House and the Senate as they turned Republican. What I want to point out is that, in the midst of it all, a Democratic President and a Republican House and Senate were able to turn things around. From a deficit of $610.26 Billion in 1946, when Truman became President, by 1947 this nation enjoyed a $41.24 Billion Surplus. In 1948 again, with a Democratic President and a Republican House and Senate this nation enjoyed a $112.38 Billion Surplus.

The House and the Senate switched back to being Democratic by the time the next President came to power, Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower. That fiscal year the nation had a $56.03 Billion dollars in deficit. With President Eisenhower, we enjoyed three surpluses; all of these surpluses took place, again, with a Democratic House and Senate.

In 1969, under Republican President Richard Nixon, this nation enjoyed what became the last surplus in twenty-nine years. During that period, the House and the Senate were Democrats.

In 1992 Bill Clinton was elected President. During his first five years deficits continued. However, from 1998 to 2000, we enjoyed a historical three consecutives surpluses.  In 2000, with a Republican House and Senate this nation enjoyed the largest surplus in history, $314.78 Billion. During those three years of Surplus the House and Senate were Republicans.

In 2001, under the leadership of President George W. Bush, we enjoyed our last surplus on record, $164.9 Billion; that surplus took place with a Democratic Senate and a Republican House.

When President Obama took office in 2008 the deficit was $488.82 Billion. By the end of his first year the deficit went up to a historical $1509.62 Trillion, with a Democratic House and Senate. In  2010, again, with a Democratic House and Senate, the deficit remained over a Trillion Dollars. In 2010 Americans sent a message to President Obama as they lost the House. In two years we continue to have our deficit over a Trillion dollars; that is four years of over a Trillion dollar deficit…this is historical indeed!

As America re-elected our President, President Obama faces the largest deficit that any President has faced in history. I believe that is now time to stop blaming Bush and move FOWARD! No other President in history has won with such awful numbers. We can’t blame racism folks! That excuse is not going to fly anymore. America has given this President an extraordinary vote of confidence. Now it is time to get to work.  The Senate continues to be Democratic and the House remains Republican as we face a Fiscal Cliff. Can we learn something from history? Can you imagine the unlimited possibilities when Republicans and Democrats work together?

A Word for Veterans: Thank You Sir and Thank You Madam

To all my FB veterans and veterans all over this nation:

Because of you I am free today, because of you I have freedom of speech, because of you I can write with liberty and because of you I can preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ openly. You have a place of honor in my heart!

You fight even when wars make no sense; you follow orders and even disobey orders when a life is in danger. You are always willing to die for others; you understand the price of what you do, you sacrifice time with family and friends and you go to strange and hostile nations and fight to death if necessary. You fight in deserts, you fight in mountains, you fight in valleys, in jungles and in open cities. You do it with courage, with dignity and with integrity… You are an America Veteran!

You come back, many times, to see your own homes destroy; facing divorces, emotional traumas and very little respect from the very country you risked your life for in battle. But for whatever is worth, I don’t care if you are Republican, I don’t care if you are a Democrat, I don’t care f you are black or white, I don’t care if you are a Christian or none-Christian, American by birth or not or even a homosexual…I thank you Sir and I thank you Madam for your service!

For you that don’t know the Lord as your Savior and don’t even know what that means write me at: angelcasiano@aol.com and let me introduce you to a the greatest soldier of all, to the one who overpass all courage, to the one who is indeed worthy to be praise and worthy of all honor. His name is Jesus…He is the Lord of all lords and the King of all kings. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the very end; he is the Son of God, He is our Savior and the one who loves you like nobody ever will. I pray that you get to Him so that He can guide you in all truth. I pray that you be a soldier in the army of the Lord; I pray that you will get to know Him before the angel of death visit the end of your days. For you that already know the Lord, I pray that God will mightily use you as a general in His army to fight for the upcoming great and final harvest.

I salute you soldier and again thank you!

Good News: This is the Beginning of the End of Conservatism Part 2

In this election we saw two more states added to the legalization of same sex-marriage. According to cbsnews.com New York, Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont — and the District of Columbia already allowed gay marriage. But Maryland, Maine and Washington are the first to approve it by public vote. The other states’ laws were enacted either by lawmakers or court rulings.”

I believe that as we see the continual decline of society and we continue to go deeper into what is prophesized concerning the moral condition of the world in the last days, we will see all of our states legalizing same-sex marriage. I also see abortion being legalized in all of our states.

We also saw in this election two states legalizing marijuana; so what is next? Cocaine? In a Democratic society we will go as far as the people wants to go; that is the problem with total political freedom…the people get to decide and things can get legalized if they follow the proper legalization process.

Conservatism seems to be politically sound and, to an extend, it has a form of Godliness, but at the heart it is also filled with man-made religion, idols and false ideas of who God really is. Conservatism will eventually also fail because it places the emphasis on the individual; just as liberals place the emphasis on government.

There is an accepted arrogance and unhealthy pride about conservatism in America that strives to place this nation above all the nations in the world. Conservatives like to call themselves exceptional, they like to call it America’s Exceptionalism.

In this election, for example, Latinos, like never before, were almost inexistent in the Republican Party. You wonder why? It is very difficult to attract people of other cultures when you already come across as viewing yourself as better than them.   The Bible tells us in James 4:6

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.” NKJV

It seems like we continue to mix the things of God with the things of this world. We use God as an ingredient that adds a needed seasoning for a particular selfish agenda. Politics is to be respected, but politics is not the answer; politics does not have the power to change and transform a person’s heart. Only God can change us!

Liberalism will eventually destroy this nation as it has many nations around the world. Liberalism dances with socialism; socialism is the heart of communism and I believe that we already know the condition of the communist nations around the world. On the other hand, Conservatism dances with Capitalism and the problem with Capitalism is that it dances with greed as greed dances with pride. These are man-made ideologies with very little Biblical foundation.

In all, there is a sleeping giant that is being quiet for some time now. The 501 © (3)’s ways has been a powerful tool to keep us quiet. We exchange our freedom to speak on certain political issues and candidates for federal tax exemptions. The church is the ark of today and it will be the only thing that will survive the flood of immorality, corruption and judgment that is coming.

We are not called to mix in, we are called to be holy and we must be careful that we do not allow secular ideologies with forms of Godliness to take us out of the path of righteousness. Liberalism will never die in this world, as we know it. Liberalism is bold in expressing their resistance against God that makes it friendly to the god of this world.

Conservatism is dying and will die without any hope of resurrection. It may sound terrible, but it is actually good news. Good people, good morals and good conscience are not enough to change the world. The church has the message of hope; the church has everything that the world needs. We are the light and the salt of this world.

I can feel the rain coming down and the ark of our salvation is already in place. Church, get up and speak…it is your turn now! Our hope is in Jesus; He is our only Savior and our only Lord! I end this article with these words:

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” Romans 1:16 (NKJV)

Good News: This is the Beginning of the End of Conservatism

Government deals with politics and politics deal with government. No doubt that the Democratic Party has become increasingly liberal; and liberalism, we know, will always resist the absolutes of God. That is the reason why Liberalism has no problem promoting same sex marriage and abortion.

Liberalism places the focus on Government as the source of HELP for a society. Liberals will always advocate for government programs, which require big spending and higher taxes. We witness how on there own Democratic Convention they refuse to allow God and Israel to be mentioned. Under great resistance a motion was made to allow God and Israel to be mentioned in people’s speeches. We all watched, as God and Israel were boo-ed!

It is virtually impossible right now for the Democratic Party to be able to reach out to the Christian community with their current platform. Likewise, it is virtually impossible for Republicans to be able to effectively reach out to the non-Christian community.

Often times the Republican Party presents itself as the Party on the side of God. The Republican Party, up until recent years, strongly adapted a Conservative ideology that promotes small government, low taxes, strong military and the creation of an environment where small business can be created to flourish.

Conservatism promotes freedom of religion. However, they have adapted two un-negotiable items in their political platform that are the result of religious convictions: Same sex marriage and abortion. The Conservative movement has passionately made their stance very clear against same-sex marriage and abortion and I applaud them for it. The problem is that the laws on these maters are changing. Beloved, we are in a free country and there are ways to change things legally.

Conservatism can only go so far; in this election America spoke very clearly against conservatism. No other President in the history of this nation has ever won an election with such terrible numbers in our economy, unemployment, deficit, etc. In any other time in history it could have been a very simple task to defeat the current President. However, President Obama ended up with a very clear Presidential victory, by far.

To be continued…

American Politics and God!

Today I had a vision: I saw a big table; on one side I saw the Democrats and on the other I saw the Republicans. I saw them arguing, pointing fingers at each other, blaming, as they were unable to come to any agreement. Then I saw the Lord with His arms crossed looking at both sides. The scary thing is that neither side turned to Christ; they did not even acknowledge that He was there waiting to impart wisdom and direction. Then it hit me: both parties, not only the Democratic Party, but the Republican party also have turned their backs on God. The Democratic Party was bold enough to take God’s name out of their convention. But, what about the Republican Party? They claim to be the party of Christians, but are they? Standing against abortion and same-sex marriage does not make you a Christian; there is more to Christianity!

The Democratic Party is placing Government at the center for the solutions of our problems; that is too much Government involvement! The Government exists to protect and to make sure that enough regulations are in place so that we can enjoy our freedom without one citizen violating the other citizen’s rights. The Government was, is and will forever be a terrible administrator. That is the reason why in the last seventy fiscal years we only had twelve surpluses. We just elected a President that, as the direct result of his policies, has given this nation the largest deficits in our nation’s history. For those that love to worship Government, this is what the Bible tells about this institution:

10 So Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who asked him for a king. 11 And he said, “This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons and appoint them for his own chariots and to be his horsemen, and some will run before his chariots. 12 He will appoint captains over his thousands and captains over his fifties, will set some to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and some to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers. 14 And he will take the best of your fields, your vineyards, and your olive groves, and give them to his servants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage, and give it to his officers and servants. 16 And he will take your male servants, your female servants, your finest young men, and your donkeys, and put them to his work. 17 He will take a tenth of your sheep. And you will be his servants. 18 And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord will not hear you in that day.”

19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, “No, but we will have a king over us, 20 that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.”

21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he repeated them in the hearing of the Lord. 22 So the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed their voice, and make them a king.” (First Samuel 8:10-22) NKJV

Notice that the word “take” is mentioned six times. Beloved, at the end of the day, the Government, this man-made system, is only designed to take.

But do we have anything better on the Republican Party side? While the Democrats place their hope in Government programs, the Republican Party places their hope in the individual. That is arrogance! In conservatism I see a man-made religious approach to God. Where is the trust in God? It is all about working, working and working some more and making money. It seems like Capitalism is their religion. The Republican Party, just like the Democrats, only welcome people that think like them; that is why nothing gets done. A Scripture comes to mind when I think about the Republican Party:

16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.” (Romans 12:16) NKJV

We can say that, politically speaking; the Republicans are obviously doing a terrible job in reaching out to Hispanics and Blacks. They are locking themselves in a couple of social issues and ways, just as Democrats do, and in the process nothing is getting done. So what is our hope? The hope is in God and the changes will happen in the church first. When the church gets on fire for God, we will have revival; God’s glory will come down and transform lives, communities, cities, states and the whole nation. Any political party can never achieve the changes needed in this nation, that heart work can only be done by God. He is the one that gets the glory; He is the Almighty and the only one able. But for now, just as Jesus waits with his arms crossed for Republican and Democrats to turn to Him, He is waiting for the church to return to Him also.
