Nothing is a good substitute for the anointing. No degrees, no denomination, letters of recommendation or your circle of influence. You can have all that, some is indeed good for you, but it is only the anointing that breaks the yoke; it is only the anointing that makes our ministries effective. Isaiah 10:27 tells us,
It shall come to pass in that day
That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder,
And his yoke from your neck,
And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil. (NKJV)
Do you want numbers, big fancy building and prestige or do you want to see lives transformed? People are walking around with strongholds, with pain and burdens that are affecting their daily walk; they are hurting in secret! They go through the routines of life, and they go through the motions; nobody knows what is going on, but they know their hearts are heavy. They need the anointing.
I am not interested in Minister’s licenses, degrees, titles or connections with this or this other ministry. When I walk through this life and people approach me with their problems, they don’t ask me if I am Baptist, Pentecostal, Catholic, etc. They are desperate, they need help and they need answers.
The church is not a social club; the church is a spiritual hospital. The anointing does not give you the ability to be a motivational speaker, but a messenger of the Most High. The anointing is not just the ability to talk about miracles; the anointing makes you and me instruments of miracles. The anointing is not a just knowledge of the Word, but a demonstration of God’s power. The anointing just not teach us the same over and over, the anointing show us the deep mysteries of God. The anointing is not just learning from others, but it is learning to dig your own well, to do your own studies and to allow the Holy Ghost to be your teacher.
How do we have access such anointing?
- First you must be born again: I don’t understand why ministers are so eager to share their great Biblical knowledge to people that are not save. They sit in churches and Bible studies all around this nation, but they are not saved; there is no fruit. So why are you teaching end-time prophesy or how to live this Christian live to folk that belong to Satan (John 8:44), folks that are unable to see the truth of God? Give them the gospel; give them an opportunity to repent, to confess Jesus as their Savior and Lord and to believe.
- Second, you need the Baptism of the Holy Ghost: The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is more than just speaking in tongues; there are other signs that I will not get into right now; but what I want to emphasis is that Jesus told the disciples to wait for this experience before taking their ministries out of Jerusalem. On Acts 1:8 the Bible tells us,
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (NKJV)
Having the power to witness not necessarily means that now you can talk louder; it is the power to handle yourself in this life like a child of God. It is the way you carry yourself that tells sinner that you are different, that there is something about you that is special.
- Third and most importantly, we must develop a lifestyle of prayer: By the way, prayer is not only talking to God. That is rude! Prayer is talking, listening and meditating on God’s Word. The listening and meditation parts are most important; the are the parts where you hear what God has to say and think deeply about what He is telling you. That is what will bring forth transformation in your life.
You can have all the education in the world, belong to the largest denomination on earth and be the President’s personal friend, but without the anointing it will, essentially be, all about you and about who you represent. “News flash!!!!” You, nor I or any organization, has the ability to change anybody, only Christ can. Let us lift HIM up and HIM only.
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:32 (KJV)
