I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! 10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:6-12 New International Version (NIV)
I don’t know what is going to happen with me in terms of ministry. It has not being easy here in Alaska. My straightforward talk and passion for Christ and ministry have not set well in the eyes of many. I am not afraid of any man, I am not politically correct and I am not a butt kisser! I am probably known already as troublemaker.
When you teach that repentance is not necessary for salvation I will be a troublemaker. When you preach that there are two truths, I will be a troublemaker. When you take the words of the Apostle Paul written in Scripture and inspired by God and you speak about Paul being wrong, misunderstanding God’s Word and to top it all up, that Paul lacked understanding of the power of the blood of Jesus, I will be your troublemaker. When you teach from your pulpit that we, black people, are curse by God, I will be your troublemaker. When you go weeks without teaching God’s Word in a church, I will be your troublemaker. And the list goes on and on! I am not a coward and I am not your slave, I am a free man, a free thinker and free in Christ indeed!
The Pentecostal/Charismatic church has a way of teaching a Gospel where everything is delegated to the Holy Spirit, with no responsibility and/or accountability in our part; a gospel that is all about feelings and not about the hard truth. That has made for extremely bad theology and horrible doctrines. You talk about drinking the kool-Aid; this puertorrican, for sure, is not drinking yours or anybody else’s.
The making of disciples is inexistent and people are not growing spiritually. Something is wrong; something is not working! We don’t know how to love our wives, our wives don’t know how to respect us and many of our own children are walking in rebelliousness and hate for all forms of authority, that is, including God’s.
We, minorities, particularly blacks, Latinos and Native Americans, better get a hold of God’s truth and stop placing our hope on political parties and ideologies. Can you open your eyes and look at our condition? We are loosing our people; 60 percent of all abortions in America are happening amongst us (Blacks and Latinos). The devil is killing us early! The number one killer amongst our men is not cancer is homicide; we are killing each other. Over 90 percent of the murders amongst us are happening at the hands of another man who looks like us. Our music is the only music where killing each other and dishonoring our women is celebrated! What is happening to us? There is no longer a need for the KKK or any white supremacy group to do us ham; we are doing the job for them!
We don’t love each other; slavery took our dignity and self-love away. We pursue dependency and expect others to do what we have the moral and most of all, Biblical obligation to do ourselves. We devalue each other in our speech and in our actions; we curse each other daily while placing the blame on, the White Man, and closing the door on the taking of responsibility.
I am done with the institutionalized church that has contributed to the problem by remaining silent on these issues for the sake of keeping the goodies of a 501 © (3) (Tax exempt status). How easy did we give away our freedom of speech!
I am done with this, the man-made church of today, that has very little to do with Jesus. They have sold out like prostitutes. The moment you come up with a different Gospel, the moment you stop preaching God’s Word and making your opinions of greater value, even as I love and respect you as a fellow human, you become an enemy of the message of the cross[1], a false teacher and a false prophet and someone whom I must cut off fellowship with (Galatians 1:6-12).
Next year I will begin to organize the ministry the Lord has for me. I tried to help others realize their vision; but found out, on the way, that, 1) many do not even have a vision and 2) many are so insecure and jealous that they see the sincere help of a man as a threat to whatever position and power they think they hold.
The ministry the Lord is placing in my heart will not focus on buildings, but on Christ teachings and His people. We will train God’s people, equip them, prepare them and send them out to do what they are called to do. I am talking about the Great Commission; I am talking about discipleship; making disciples to follow Christ, to go for Christ and ultimately, for them to make more disciples for Christ. That is our mandate!
I am now actively and aggressively teaching my family with all my heart and soul. It starts there, with my family! Our “church” is at home together with a couple of friends and, at this point, I want to keep it that way. I am not looking for numbers and fancy buildings, I am looking for a few good man, man of valor, man of courage, unafraid to speak God’s truth in the mix of opposition, unafraid to be unpopular; men that are not preoccupied with being friends with the world, but men who fear God and are serious and committed about learning from Him, to follow Him and to go for Him, even at the face of death.
I am not proposing anything new; there is nothing new under the sun! I am proposing what is already there, the typology of the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms and the focus on the New Covenant of Christ and the orthodoxy of the original Apostles. I propose to go back to:
- Christ true discipleship by maintaining and walking in His teachings and in self-denial. (John 8:31-32 / Matthew 6:24)
- Our Vision is the Great Commission; there is no other vision.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)
- The orthodox way of the church according to Acts 2:42,
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42 (NIV)
- A focus on the apostle’s teachings.
- True fellowship by eating together and sharing our lives as a true family.
- Praying together
- A commitment to equip the saints for the work of the ministry according to Ephesians 4:12-16
to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[a] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (ESV)
See my dear brothers and sisters, we don’t have to reinvent the wheel; we don’t have to wait until the next revival or some external phenomenon to take place; we just have to do what God already told us to do, when we do that; when our hearts are set in doing so… that is REVIVAL! That is the system that always delivers, that always redeems and always set free! Obedience is revival!
