Are the Nephilim Amongst Us today?

I cannot imagine a world more devastating and scarier than the world where these Giants were around raping women, enslaving, killing and devouring men. I cannot even imagine the terror of witnessing such violence and corruption. I asked myself if I would have been one of those 10 men that Moses sent out to spy the land, how would I have reacted. They witnessed these Nephilim devouring men and they saw the bloodbath firsthand. 

Today I admire, more than ever, the faith of men like Joshua, the faith of Caleb and the faith of David and his mighty men who fought against these giants and defeat them. Today, these Nephilim are still around us, but they are no longer giants. Perhaps that was a mistake on the devil’s part as they consumed too much food and men were not able to supply what they needed to survive. That is the reason why these monsters ended up killing and devouring each other. Enoch tells us exactly what these Nephilim are today,

And now, the giants, who are produced from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits upon de earth, and on the earth shall be their dwelling. Evil spirits have produced from their bodies; because they are born from men and the Watchers is their beginning and primal origin, they shall be evil spirits, and evil spirits shall they be called. And the spirit of the giants of the giants afflict, oppress, destroy, attack, do battle, and work destruction on the earth, and cause trouble. They take no food, but nevertheless hunger and thirst, and cause offences. And these spirits shall rise up against the children of men and against the women, because they have proceeded from them.”^[1]

Reading these words helps us understand what Jude tells us in Jude 1:3-4. Jude actually confirms that these Nephilim are with us, but in the form of demons. That is the reason why they, as Jude stated, were able to secretly slipped in among us; How? Because these demons use bodies like yours and mine to do their evil deeds. 

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. ⁴ For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. Jude 1:3-4 (NIV)

Demons have a very specific job description: 

1. Afflict or cause distress
2. Oppress or persecute 
3. Destroy or demolish
4. Attack or assault
5. Do battle or conflict
6. Work Destruction or devastation
7. Cause trouble or anxiety
8. Causes offences or wrongdoing

As we saw earlier, these Fallen Angels were able to establish a very sophisticated demonic school. They taught men all the iniquity that is upon the earth today. Beloved, we need God like never before; we need his Spirit like never before; we need to study the Scriptures like never before and, we need to discern the spirits like never before.
