The Good Old Days Will Never Come

These are the days of the gentiles now (Luke 21:24), they run the world. They are bold, unashamed, and very proud of their agenda. The last days are known for a hyper attention on race and hate (Luke 21:10).

The earth will be shaken (Luke 21:11), food will lack, evil will be evident and no longer hiding in codes and secret societies. The governments, with the help of the corrupt press and the powerful, will keep the people terrorized to control them.

Persecution against believers will be acceptable, encouraged, and justifiable. We will be the target of the world’s hate, all because of the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 21:12). Oh, but some will bear witness, even during all the terror and all the confusion. God will release great wisdom and a special anointing to speak in the presence of the powerful (Luke 21:15).

We will witness the destruction of our natural families “You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. 17 You will be hated by all for my name’s sake.” Luke 21:16-17 (ESV) But some will experience supernatural protection; the power to endure will be upon us all (Luke 21:18-20) God’s people will not give up!

The mountains and the country site are going to be our escape; wickedness will concentrate in the cities (Luke 21:21). The arrogance of the progressive find comfort in the big cities; they look down at people from the country site and the mountains.

The devil always attacks the children “Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and wrath against this people.” Luke 21:23 (ESV)

The Gentiles will have a temporary victory. As we approach the last days their hate against God and his people becomes more evident. Many of us “… will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.”Luke 21:24 (ESV)

So why hope? You may ask. We hope because we win. Even as the good old days will never come, know this: that “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52 (ESV)

Our destiny is eternity with Christ; the destiny of the devil, his kingdom and all who follow him is the Lake of Fire.
