"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:" 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV)
Category: End Time Articles and Series
This category is dedicated on focusing on End-time articles. Are we in the last day? What is the rapture? What is the Millennium, the second coming of Jesus, the Antichrist, etc.? We will deal with all of these topics and more
The word for the church today is clear in my spirit. Is a cry for us to come out of Babylon. Revelation 18:4 recorded that cry for us to see today:
“Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” (Rev. 18:4)
However, don’t think for a minute that the cry for us to come out of Babylon is and End Time Word. That has been the cry of God for His people since the beginning, when He started the nation of Israel four thousand years ago with a Babylonian man by the name of Abraham. Did you know that Abraham, The Father of our Faith, the one that God used to start the nation of Israel came out of Babylon? In Genesis 11:27-28 we see the following:
“27 This is the genealogy of Terah: Terah begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran begot Lot. 28 And Haran died before his father Terah in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans.” NKJV
Ur was south of the Great City of Babylon. In Daniel chapter three we can see that it was actually the Chaldeans who enticed the burning of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:8-11) (Daniel 3:16-18). From the beginning, going back to Genesis 12:1-3, when God called Abraham, we can see God establishing that His people are called to be separated from Babylon; that is what it means to be holy:
“Now the Lord had said to Abram:
“Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (NKJV)
So God takes Abraham out of a great city, tells him to get out of his country, from his family and from his father’s house with a promise that he will make him a great nation. By this time Abraham was already 75 years old and his wife Sarah was not able to have children according to Genesis 11:30.
Beloved, prophetically speaking this is the cry of God’s heart right now. As we saw in the last article, in one hour God will destroy Babylon, but is taking God’s people over four thousands years to come out of Babylon. I can say that the children of Israel spend 40 years in the desert before they started conquering the Promise Land. It sounds like a long time, but in reality, forty years is nothing compare to us right now. The church has been around two thousand years and we still going around the mountain of the idolatry of Babylon. Oh, we can say that God has been very patient with us.
God says in Genesis 12:1 “Get out of your country” and he tells us in Revelation 18:4 “Come out of her, my people”.
We all come out of our own Babylon, but we must press on and go after the Promise Land of our destiny. Just as God brought Abraham out from under the false religion of his father, He is bringing us out of our own false believes systems. I hear the Lord saying:
“For I am coming with severe speed, prepare your hearts and prepare the way of the Lord…“Come out of her, my people” and come after Me, says the Lord. For in Me you will find the place where you shall not even want. Make your path straight! Keep your eyes on Me so that you don’t go deeper into the waters of perdition and troubles. “Come out of her, my people” Why do you look for men when I am standing here for you? I am the Lord of lords, I am the King of kings, I am the way, the only way, I am the door, I am the beginning, I am the end, I carry a kingdom that can’t be remove and I am looking for a nation of saints, citizens from heaven and a holy army of people that are soul-out for the Master’s will, a people that will rule and reign with Me says the Lord. I am coming…I am meeting you very soon on the clouds and you will be transformed into the incorruptible in the twinkling of an eye. Oh, the table is being prepared for the great wedding! Stop your fornications and stop your adulteries…“Come out of her, my people” and do not be deceived by an unfinished tower, by false idols and false teachings. Don’t follow the lies of Nimrod and his demonic symbols…I am the great I am, All-knowing and All-Powerful…Don’t be fooled by their knowledge, don’t be impress by their degrees and higher learning achievements, but come and learn from Me, come and walk in the garden of what is really Truth…Come and know ME! Come out of what you know and into what I know says the Lord… Come out of her…come out of the great whore and prepare the way of the Lord!”
“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4 (NKJV)
Prophetically speaking we are at the point where the Lord is going to begin to clean His house. The end of Babylon is near, but before He finishes Babylon God is crying out for us, the church, to stop mixing with Nimrod. Finishing Babylon is not the hard work, the Bible tells us in Revelation 18:9-10 exactly how long is going to take for God to destroy this Babylonian system ones and for all:
9 “The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’ NKJV
In one hour God is going to destroy the greatest nation men have ever seen. In one hour God will destroy a spirit that took over the whole world, a spirit that controlled the sounds of music, the arts, the economy and the most powerful governments on earth. Babylon left her mark in all secret societies, in the arrogance of the high class, in our higher learning institutions, in the company of the powerful, in the meeting where life changing decisions are made and in the presence of the famous, the idols, the celebrities, the icons, the stars, the legends and much more…In one hour they will be destroyed!
However, the hard work is in dealing with the church…in cleaning us up. The hard work is found in a church that insist in going after the ways of Babylon; a church that insist in looking at politics for answers; a church that insist in mixing her music with the music of the world; a church that insist in going after money over going after God’s anointing. A church that has gotten good in developing networks, but is failing in coming together as the Body of Christ. A church that has gotten good in growing in the numbers of members, but is totally ignorant to the discipleship process.
It is amazing to me that as God confused the language in Genesis 11:5-9; when we see the beginning of the church in Pentecost, we see people of different nationalities and languages being able to understand each other as they spoke in tongues (Acts 2:1-11). Here we see the church arising as an instrument in God’s hands to destroy the confusion of Babylon. Here we see a church that will indeed complete her mission on this earth, no matter how bad things seems. In contrast with a Babylonian system that will forever be an incomplete tower.
Babylon takes a protagonist role as we see the end of the freedom of the great nation of Israel 606 years before Christ. It was Babylon who gave Israel the last one-two punch. The Bible tells us in Daniel 1:1-2
“In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the articles of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god.” NKJV
Babylon was rich, Babylon was smart, Babylon was powerful, Babylon was beautiful, and… Babylon is the great whore of today. In Revelation 18:2 the Bible tells us what Babylon is all about:
“And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!” NKJV
The Babylonian system and agenda is a dwelling place for demons, a prison for every foul spirit and a cage for every unclean and hated bird. However, everything secular belongs to Babylon:
Cultures of the nations of the world (Revelation 18:3)
Political Powers of the world (Revelation 18:3)
The Economy of the world (Revelation 18:3)
The Secular Music (Revelation 18:22)
The Sophisticated Arts (Revelation 18:22)
The enemy is doing a great job in seducing even those in the Body of Christ to mix-in with the ways of Babylon, but in Revelation 18:4 the Bible tells us:
“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” NKJV
A man established the city of Babylon by the name of Nimrod. To understand the Babylonian spirit that we see all the way to Revelation, it is crucial that we get a clear understanding of the history of this man. Nimrod was the Great-Grandson of Noah. He is only mentioned in the Bible a couple of times. In Genesis 10:6-10 the Bible introduces Nimrod as follow:
“6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. 7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. 8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.” KJV
I am purposely using the King James Version Bible as one of the most trusted version out there. However, if you read these verses as I have, without studying, you will look at Nimrod as wonderful man. The Bible describes him as a “Mighty hunter before the Lord” twice. To begin to understand the true evilness of this man we will look at two things: Where he comes from specifically? and What is the meaning of his name?
1. Where he comes from specifically?
Nimrod is the grandson on Ham, one of Noah’s sons. This is what the Bible tells us about Ham in Genesis 9:20-25
20 And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. 21 Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.
24 So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. 25 Then he said:
“Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants He shall be to his brethren.” NKJV
Ham did not show proper respect for his father Noah. Not only that he saw his nakedness, but also to make mockery of his dad, he went on to tell his brothers. In these verses you can see the reverence that Shem and Japheth had for his father as they went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Ham represented the first direct act of rebelliousness against a father recorded in the Bible. It is important to point out that the curse was not spoken against Cush, the father of Nimrod, but against Canaan, his cousin. But out of this branch of Noah’s family comes Nimrod.
2. What is the meaning of Nimrod?
This is where it is crucial that we understand, not only the meaning of Nimrod, but also the purpose of his demonic agenda. Nimrod means: “We shall rebel.” This definition makes sense as we take a look at the events that took place at The Tower of Babel. No doubts that it was Nimrod who directed this plan as we have already established that he were the founder of Babel. In Genesis 11:3-4 we see this story unfolding:
“3 Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. 4 And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” (NKJV)
We can clearly see in these verses the motives of their hearts:
They wanted to make a name for themselves.
They were rebelling against God’s command to be fruitful and multiply as they say: “…lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”
Babylon comes against the righteousness of God and His plan for humanity. The Towel of Babel’s story does not necessary marks the first rebellion against God, but it is the first time that men has organized themselves to create a place with its own political and religious establishment. The situation was so serious that God Himself came down to earth to intervene. In Genesis 11:5-9 the Bible tells us:
“5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.” NKJV
“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.” Revelation 19:1-2 (KJV)
This Great Whore is non-other than The Great City of Babylon. Babylon is mentioned over 260 times in Scripture. As early as Genesis and, all the way to Revelation, we can clearly see that Babylon is only second in importance to Jerusalem. Jerusalem was the Capital of Judah and Benjamin, Samaria was the Capital of the remaining ten tribes of Israel and Babylon was the Capital city of Babylonia.
Prophetically speaking, Jerusalem represents God and Babylon represents Satan himself. Through history we saw that Samaria and the ten tribes completely embrace the Babylonian idolatry. Judah, on the other hand, did have some good kings that dealt with the issue of idolatry, but the great majority left the idols untouched in the high places.
Babylon existed fifty miles south of what is known today as Baghdad, Capital of Iraq. Babylon does not exist as a geographical and tangible city anymore. However, the Babylonian spirit is alive and well and will continue to be alive and well until the end of this age.
In the year 606 BC Babylon, under the leadership of King Nebuchadnezzar, took over Judah. This historical event is the prophetic and political mark of the start of the times of the gentiles according to Luke 21:24. This period started a long season of powerful empires having dominion over Israel. Even as Israel won its independence as a nation in 1948, Israel has not known peace since the times of Babylon. This dominion and lack of peace will continue until the Lord Jesus Christ Himself seats in David’s throne.
“And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” (KJV)
Have you ever gotten the feeling that we, as Christians, are loosing this battle? It feels that way because these are indeed the times of the Gentiles! The spirit of Babylon represents the leading force used by Satan on this earth. I go as far as saying that, as the church is for God, Babylon is for the Devil. But lets take a trip in Biblical history to take a deeper look at The Great Whore.
I am not an End Time Prophecy expert; as a matter of fact I don’t remember ever doing deep studies concerning the end times. However, I have to tell you that for the last month or so I can’t stop talking, reading, writing, studying, preaching and teaching on this topic. Just a couple of weeks ago I finished writing twenty small Spanish articles on the End Times.
Many people do not engage in studying this topic because #1. It is difficult to understand. #2. It is indeed hard to put these pieces together and #3. Many people ask, why study about the end times anyway, when we really need to learn how to live for today?
What I am discovering is that we can’t really learn to live the Christian live today without a basic understanding of the last days. At least that is what is happening to me! Engaging in this teaching is helping me understand more about the character of God and how much He despises the world’s systems. In the process, I am experiencing a personal revival and a love and appreciation for the God that saved my soul on April 26, 1997.
“17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. 19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found. 21 From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.” (NIV)
When Jesus was getting ready to die on the cross he declared: “It is finished” (John 19:30) Jesus was declaring that He completed the perfect plan of salvation for the world. Here we see the Seventh Angel saying, in a loud voice: “It is done”, declaring the end of times, the end of this dimension of life.
Jesus said that it was finished and the earthquake sealed his proclamation, just as an earthquake will also take place in the end times, where people that were dead will come back to life (Matthew 27:50-54). When the Seventh Angel gets ready to declare the end of this age, that proclamation will be sealed with another earthquake; one that will shake the whole world to the point that people will see the end of all Islands and mountains. Like that was not enough, we see the following in verse twenty-one:
“From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.”
Again we see the confirmation of God’s judgment by the hard hearts of the people. With all these signs they still cursed God.
Beloved I am totally convinced that just as the Plagues that God sent against Egypt only affected the Egyptians and not the Israelites, this wrath of God’s anger are also designed to only affect the rebellious. This seventh bowl marks the very end of this age; however we are now still in the church age. The next event in the prophetic calendar of events is the rapture. From the rapture to the manifestation of God’s wrath is about seven years. Are you Rapture ready?
“12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.” NIV
This phenomenon of the Euphrates River is very significant. This is in preparation for the Great Battle of Armageddon and very close in time for the second coming of the Lord and the beginning of the Millennium. This is indeed very near to the humiliating end of the Dragon, The Antichrist and The False Prophet. Daniel 11:40-45 illustrates for us this dramatic and historical event that marks the start of Armageddon and the end of the Dragon’s reign:
“40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through.
(The Antichrist will win great battles here)
“41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon.”
(The Glorious Land is Israel; the Antichrist shall also overthrow many other countries, but he will not be able to over take them all. Edom, Moab and Ammon will be able to escape from his hands)
42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels.
(Here we can see that Egypt will not be able to escape the Antichrist’s power. We can also see that Libya and the African nation of Ethiopia will follow the Antichrist)
44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. 45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.”
(Here we see an echo of what we just saw in Revelation 16 as the waters of the Euphrates River dried up. This prepared the way for the kings of the east to go after the armies of the Antichrist.)
Back to Revelation 16:13-14 / 16 we see the following:
“13 Then I saw three impure spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are demonic spirits that perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.” NIV
“16 Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.” NIV
This is Armageddon! Armageddon will make our World Wars look like little Civil Wars. We will see the whole word divided in two powerful and huge armies. The whole world will be participating in this war. Now, I have asked myself if everybody involved in those armies that are coming against the Antichrist will be a Christian. Does rejecting the mark of the beast necessarily mean that they embrace Jesus? I do not have the answer to these questions, but a good place to start is in the study of the Millennium, which will take place after the end of the Great Tribulation and after the Second Coming of Christ. That my friends… will be another series!
Stay with us for the next part as we deal with the Seventh and last Bowl of God’s Wrath.
“5 Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:
“You are just in these judgments, O Holy One, you who are and who were;
6 for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.”
7 And I heard the altar respond:
“Yes, Lord God Almighty , true and just are your judgments.” NIV
We can see in these verses that God’s judgments are declared righteous; this is a reminder that even as terrible as these events may look, they are indeed the punishment that the Beast’s followers deserve. In these verses we can also see that God will make these Beast followers drink the blood of the Saints and Prophets they murdered.
In our previous article we discussed the first three Bowl of God’s Anger:
The Sea Turns Into Blood and
The Waters of the Rivers and Springs Turn Into Blood
As we continue, we step into the fourth Bowl of God’s Wrath:
4. The Sun Scorching People:
“8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. 9 They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.” NIV
I grew up in Puerto Rico where it is hot all year round. I’ve been to Yucatán, Mexico: close to the desert with temperatures reaching 110 degrees. Nevertheless, I can’t imagine this kind of heat as described in the Bible. The word Scorch in the Greek means: “Heat or the result of burning.” The word Seared means: “To bake.”
Imagine that you are filled with decomposed smelly wounds, with no food to eat, no water and a heat wave like you have never experience before? But with all the pain and death around, the Bible tells us “…they refused to repent and glorify him.” These people have un-repentant and prideful hearts; they are people that are marked with the mark of the beast, people with no hope, whose final destination will be in the Lake of Fire. Their un-repentant response is the greatest evidence that God’s judgments are true and righteous.
5. Darkness and Pain:
“10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony 11 and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.” NIV
Even in the midst of all these events, pain and the smell of death, they will continue to curse the God of heaven and refuse to repent. Again, with their response, they are confirming that God is right in what He is doing.
The wrath of God is what takes place at the end of The Great Tribulation. Many times when we hear about The Great Tribulation, we place our focus on the doings of The Antichrist during that time. The Great Tribulation indeed, is going to be a terrorizing time for the Christians that are born again during that time. The Antichrist will come after them with no mercy. I believe that many people will be saved during that time; that is what makes this The Great Tribulation. If everybody is in agreement with the Antichrist there is no need for problems.
A small study on the Great Tribulation will quickly show us that this is a time when Christians will suffer persecution like never before in the history of Christianity. However, today I want to talk to you about the most terrifying thing any of us can possibly face besides hell, and that is…The Wrath of God! Revelation Chapter sixteen gives us a good insight of the beginning of the end of The Great Tribulation and gives us specificity concerning The Seven Bowls of God’s Wrath. In verse one we read:
“Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.” (NKJV)
The word Wrath in this verse means:
To move impetuously, particularly as the air or wind, a violent motion or passion of the mind. Anger, wrath, indignation So, what is that “passion of the mind” that is reflected in these seven bowls? Lets start from the beginning:
1. Festering Sores:
“2 The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.” Rev. 16:2 NIV
The first bowl of God’s wrath is going to deal with those that agreed to worship the Beast and were given the mark of the beast that enables them to buy and sell. They will be punished with rotten wounds.
2. The Sea Turned into Blood:
“3 The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea died.” Rev. 16.3 NIV
This second bowl will cause the water of the sea to turn to blood. This will cause every living thing in the sea to die, which means that the food supply from the sea will be gone. This blood is the blood that will also have a rotten smell, as it is the blood of dead people.
3. The Water’s of the Rivers and Springs Will Turn to Blood:
“4 The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood.” NIV
With this bowl of God’s wrath, drinking water is awfully damaged, but also the animals on earth will be greatly affected. So, not only that food supply is not good, but also water supply is also awfully affected.
So far, with only these first three bowls of God’s anger, you have people with decomposed wounds, seas turning to blood, all animals in the sea dead, no drinking water and the animals on the earth either dead or greatly affected. You would think that this is enough damage, but God is not done releasing His judgment yet.
To be continued…
