Prayer

Prayer ignites our spirits with personal revival as it opens our eyes to the needs of others and it gives us the flame to do something about it. Prayer gives us a greater awareness of sin; it helps us to be holy. Prayer gives us a greater vision of what God is doing; it gives us a better and more positive attitude. Prayer is for the Christian as jogging is for the athlete; it gives us endurance so that we don’t give up.

  1. Prayer is also an art—the art of lining up one’s heart with God’s heart for a situation or person. This is easier said than done, but when one is single-hearted with God, it’s like opening a valve between two pipes and letting the water flow. Or like flipping a switch in an electrical circuit and letting the power flow.
