The Alarming Disrespect Against The Holy Ghost Among Us

Many claim that they preach the Word of God Sunday after Sunday. Many claim to base their lives and their teachings strictly on the Bible…but, are they? Second Corinthians 3:5-6 tells us:

“ Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,  who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” NKJV

I am afraid that we are living in times when ministers are finding their sufficiency through  seminary and achieving higher degrees and titles in lieu of depending on God’s Spirit. The word sufficient is synonymous with the word enough so essentially we are saying that God’s Spirit is not enough for us to be able to do what we are called to do as ministers.

One of the most critical problems we are facing today in the Body of Christ is that we are adding knowledge to our heads without treasuring our communion with the Holy Ghost to change our hearts. Second Corinthians 13:14 encourages us to such communion with these words:

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.” (NKJV)

In adding that knowledge without the Spirit we see death increasing among us; no power, no Shekinah glory, no miracles, no restoration and no fire. What we do have is plenty of the same; week after week, month after month and year after year. Our pre-package filled with man-made agendas and religion is bringing spiritual death to our congregations. This death that comes from the Letter without the Spirit it most be addressed for what it is: an alarming disrespect against the Holy Spirit. Jesus said:

“31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.” Matthew 12:31-32 NKJV
